Lauren Bachman, DNP, AGNP-BC, IFMCP, is a functional medicine nurse practitioner, educator, and systems-thinker devoted to restoring wholeness in healthcare. With a background spanning from medical oncology, hospice and palliative care, to precision and longevity medicine, and complex chronic disease, Lauren brings a depth of clinical experience matched by her commitment to honoring the full human experience - body, mind, and spirit.
Her work is rooted in whole-person care, bridging advanced diagnostics with the art of listening, attunement, and clinical inquiry. Lauren integrates genomics, metabolomics, mitochondrial health, gut-immune interactions, mind-body medicine, and spiritual frameworks to help individuals understand not only what is happening physiologically, but why, and how healing unfolds through both science and inner reflection and growth.
As an educator, Lauren is known for meeting learners exactly where they are. She strives to translate complex concepts into language that feels approachable and meaningful, often using metaphor and storytelling to help students connect the “forest” and the “trees”. Her teaching emphasizes critical thinking, clinical discernment, and cultivating presence as a therapeutic skill.
Lauren joins the Institute for Functional Nursing with a deep desire to support the next generation of nursing professionals stepping into this paradigm, helping them feel grounded, capable, and confident as they integrate science, intuition, and whole-person care into their practice.
