The Functional Nursing Program™: Bridging Nursing Practice with Functional Medicine
Our signature program is a two-semester functional medicine training program created specifically for RNs and NPs—and taught through the clinical lens of nursing. Designed to elevate clinical practice, the program helps nurses integrate root-cause care, functional nutrition, advanced assessment, and systems-based thinking within nursing scope.
Led by IFM-trained nursing faculty, the program includes 48 live MeetUps, mentorship, community support, practical resources, and 152 nursing contact hours.
The Functional Nursing Membership™
This membership supports functionally minded RNs and NPs in bringing root-cause care into real-world practice through ongoing education, practical resources, case-based learning, and a supportive professional community.
With four live sessions each month led by IFM-certified, expert nursing faculty, members gain access to case study reviews, member discussions, clinical consult replays, and open-topic MeetUps designed to help translate functional medicine concepts into confident nursing practice.
Want to Start Your Own Holistic Nursing Practice?
The Holistic Nurse Entrepreneur Program™ is a self-paced course created by Dr. Brigitte Sager, founder of the Institute for Functional Nursing, to help nurses build and grow private practices rooted in holistic nursing care. HNEP is now officially licensed through IFN. Offered alongside IFN’s clinical programs, it serves as a powerful complement for nurses who are ready to turn their expertise into a business that aligns with their values and vision. Students can connect in the HNEP community and during monthly MeetUps.
